Kenya’s largest retail chain Tuskys Supermarkets has opened two more branches in Kericho and Eldoret Town at locations previously occupied by troubled Nakumatt Holdings.
According to Tuskys CEO Daniel Githua, the two store were revamped at a cost of Kshs 220 million, pushing the retailer’s footprint to 63 branches.
“At Tusker Mattresses, we currently operate 63 well performing branches and we are laying the ground work for further expansion projects as part of a commitment to deepen the value of formal retail trade in Kenya.” Githua said.
In Kericho, Tuskys opened its second branch in the town at Green Square Mall, at the space left vacant by Nakumatt.
On the other hand, Tuskys new branch at Eldo Centre Mall along the busy Uganda road covers 60,000 square feet, space that previously occupied by Nakumatt.
Tuskys says the two new stores in Kericho and Eldoret will house a wide range of products including clothing, household electronics and furniture.
