Turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) dropped sharply to KSh 87.52 Million on Thursday on a volume of 2.89 Million in 417 deals.
This is compared with the previous NSE trading day when the bourse recorded a turnover of KSh 599.6 Million. The volume of shares traded Wednesday were 23,873,800 shares in 818 deals.
The top mover at the bourse was Kenya Commercial Bank(KCB) Group, which traded a volume of 1.59 Million shares followed by KenGen(327,800), CIC Group( 210,500), Equity Group( 113,200) and FAHR (107,400).
The leading price gainer was Flame Tree which rose 7.525 to KSh 1.43 followed by HFCK whose price rose 5.39% to KSh 3.91 It was followed by Home Afrika which was up 4.76% to KSh 0.44, Total which gained 4.48% to KSh 24.50 and Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) which gained 1.69% to KSh 8.42.
The worst-performing stocks were led by Uchumi which declined 3.23% to KSh 0.30. It was followed by CIC which fell 2.95% to KSh 2.30, Nation Media Group which lost 1.56% to trade at KSh 15.75 and Kenya Reinsurance which lost 1.30% to KSh 2.27.
The NSE All-Share lost 0.09 points to 139.65 while the NSE 20 Share Index rose 0.91 to 1814.17. The NSE 25 Share Index climbed 2.20 points to 3220.54
