NSE Turnover Declines 38% to KSh 327 Million

Trading on Tuesday at the Nairobi Securities Exchange saw a turnover of Ksh 327.43 million in 985 deals. A total of 12.92 million shares were traded.

Safaricom moved 3.03 milion shares valued at Ksh 85.92 million. Safaricom was trading between Ksh 28.00 and Ksh 29.00 closing with 3.58% share price depreciation to KSh 28.30.

I&M Holdings saw a turnover of Ksh 85.37 million in 12 deals. A total of 1.92 million I&M shares were exchanged, trading between KSh 44.30 and Ksh. 48.00

KCB Group moved 1.91 million shares valued at Ksh. 66.66 million. KCB closed the day at Ksh 34.90. Kenya Power saw a turnover of of Ksh 1.18 million in 48 deals. KPLC closed the day with a 2.66% share price appreciation to Ksh 1.93 per share.

Equity Group realized a turnover of Ksh 37.26 million in 68 deals. A total of 1.14 million Equity group shares were exchanged trading at an average of Ksh 32.60 per share. Equity saw a 91.4% foreign investor participation.

Top gainer of the day was Home Afrika with a 9.09% share price appreciation. Other gainers of the day were Bamburi Cement(7.31%), ABSA(3.77%), Stanbic Holdings(3.75%) and BK Group(3.29%). ABSA saw a turnover of Ksh 2.26 million to close at Ksh 9.36 per share.

Sanlam Kenya Plc saw an end of day share price depreciation of 7.14% to close at 13.00 per share. Other losers of the day were Trans-Century(4.69%), Standard Group(4.35%), Total Kenya(4.18%) and Britam Holdings(4.12%). Total Kenya saw a turnover of Ksh 1.61 million closing at Ksh 22.90 per share.

The NSE All Share Index shed off 2.57 points to close at 134.80. The NSE 20 share index gained 5.01 points to close at 1879.34 while the NSE 25 declined 30.36 points to close at 3111.87
