Airtel Removes Transaction Fees on all Mobile Money Transfers

Airtel Kenya has removed transaction fees on all its mobile money transfers in line with the government’s directive of deepening mobile money usage so as to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 through physical handling of cash.

Therefore, Airtel Money subscribers will be able to send and receive money for free starting today, for the next 90 days.

Furthermore, the telco has raised the daily transaction limit from KSh70,000 to KSh150,000 and increased the daily limit from KSh140,000 to KSh300,000.

Additionally, customers will not be charged for transfers from Airtel money to bank accounts.

Safaricom and Telkom already waived fees for their respective mobile money transfers, albeit only for transactions below KSh1,000.
