Yale University President, Peter Salovey, is expected to make a visit to Kenya between 14 March and 16 March, through the Yale Africa Initiative. The Yale Africa Initiative is an ongoing project by Yale University to increase its commitment to Africa.
“The Initiative promotes African scholarship, contemporary discourse, and research at Yale and in Africa, strengthens Yale’s relationships with African institutions, increases career opportunities for Yale students across Africa, and attracts the best and the brightest African students to Yale,” the Yale Africa Initiative website states.
The purpose for the visit is to draw attention to several partnerships Yale University participates in directly or through their alumni and students. The work done through these partnerships focuses on research in public health, neglected tropical diseases, and how to improve health outcomes by focusing more on research.
Peter Salovey will also be travelling to Ghana.
