WPP ScanGroup Investors Ratify Special Interim Dividend of KSh3.5 Billion

WPP Scangroup shareholders ratified the special interim dividend of Ksh3.458 billion on 432,155,985 shares at Ksh8 per share during the firm’s AGM held on Wednesday 30th September 2020. The dividend was declared by the directors on 6 July 2020 after the completion of the Kantar transaction and paid before 28 August 2020.

However, the shareholders voted to have no dividend payment for the financial year ended 31 December 2019.

In addition, the AGM saw re-election of Richard Omwela as non-executive director. Pratul Shah, Richard Omwela, and Jonathan Neil were appointed to the board audit and risk management committee. Deloitte and Touche were appointed to continue serving as the auditors for the company.

WPP Scan group profits for the half-year ended June 30, 2020, rose to Ksh1.583 billion compared to a Ksh249.85 million recorded in a similar period last year. The massive jump in profits is attributed to the sale of Scangroup’s interests in various discontinued operations.
