    Why Web 3 Matters

The internet today resembles the automobile industry in 1920s. The space The internet is one the most significant technological development in human history and has progressed immensely since its inception.

According to panelists at a recent forum in Barcelona dubbed Celo Connect, the world is now at the beginning of the web3 era, which combines the decentralized, community-governed ethos of web1 with the advanced, modern functionality of web2.

Chris Dixon, a general partner at a16z, where he leads the crypto/ web3 funds says that Web 3 is owned by the builders and users, orchestrated with tokens. He argues that the decentralized networks can win the third era of the internet for the same reason they won the first era: by winning the hearts and minds of entrepreneurs and developers.

Web3 apps are built on blockchains, decentralized networks of numerous peer-to-peer nodes (servers), or a hybrid of the two, often called dApps or decentralized apps.
