Watamu to Host The Palm Exotica, the Tallest Skyscraper in Africa

Watamu Beach in Malindi Kenya is set to host the tallest skyscraper in Africa, standing at 370 metres compared to Pinnacle Tower’s 300 metres. The upcoming skyscraper dubbed ‘Palm Exotica’ will, therefore, stand out more than Upperhill’s 70-storeyed Pinnacle Tower which is still under construction.

    The Upcoming Palm Exotica

The 61-storeyed Palm Exotica will be developed by New York and South Africa investors and Italian billionaire Franco Rosco. The building has been designed by Italian architect Lorenzo Pagnini and the design has borrowed from traditionally crafted art pieces of the local culture.

The building, which is a mixed-use development, will boost tourism in the coastal area which is one of Kenya’s top tourist destinations. Some of the uses the building will host include residential suites, a 24-hour casino, Presidential suites, studios, a retail mall, a nightclub, a theatre and a cinema, a wellness spa, a children’s play area, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, and a five-star hotel.

The residential suites will range from exclusive sky apartments to penthouse apartments offering residents the beautiful view of the Indian Ocean, the picturesque Watamu scenes, floor-to-ceiling windows, and large balconies.
