African Infrastructure Investment Managers has appointed Wanjiku Mugane as its senior advisor in Kenya.
Ms Mugane will be working closely with the AIIM investment team, delivering market insights and supporting the pipeline deals.
AIIM is one of Africa’s largest and most experienced infrastructure-focused private equity fund managers and a member of Old Mutual Alternative Investments. It has invested in Kipeto Wind farm, BBOXX New Generation Utility in Kenya and has also been shortlisted in the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway PPP.
Jurie Swart, AIIM’s chief executive says that the company’s investment in Kenya shows it’s commitment in seizing the opportunities for its partners, investors and communities it operates in and subsequently unlock investment in the East African region infrastructure.
“East Africa continues to be one of the fastest growing regions in the world with an estimated growth rate of 6.2 per cent in 2019. Wanjiku’s appointment reinforces our deep operational experience on the ground in Kenya and brings an expert new perspective to the table.

Wanjiku is co-founder and Executive Director of Eagle Africa Capital Partners Ltd, a corporate finance advisory and capital investing firm.
Previously, she was East Africa CEO of Standard Chartered Securities and co-founder of First Africa Group, providing cross-border corporate finance advisory.
