The Employment and Labour Relations court has stopped the recruitment of a new director-general at the Communications Authority of Kenya until there is a board in place.
The Employment and Labour Relations court argued that the absence of a board makes the appointment of the acting director-general unlawful. Last week, CA appointed Ms. Mercy Wanjau as the acting director-general to replace Mr. Wangusi. Wangusi’s term expired on 21st August 2019 paving way for the appointment of a new DG.
Ms. Wanjau will serve as the interim Director-General as they await the court’s final ruling.
The court hearing will be on 10th September.
