The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Monday that outside China, there were over 8,000 infected cases reported in 61 countries, with 127 deaths caused by COVID-19 so far. South Korea, Japan, Italy and Iran are the most affected countries.
About 90,000 cases have been recorded globally with the Chinese Government announcing that positive signs were recorded in a number of provinces.
Wall Street rose up slightly as fears over the virus were offset by efforts from the US Government to curb its spreading in the country. Trump announced earlier he was set to meet with pharmaceutical companies’ executives later in the day.
Manufacturing activity in the United States declined to 50.1% in February while the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) dropped by 0.8 percentage points from 50.9% recorded in January.
In Eurozone, manufacturing PMI rose to 49.2 in February from 47.9 in January.
