Victoria Sabula has been confirmed as The Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund’s (AECF) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), after serving as interim since August 2019.
Before joining AECF, Victoria held several different positions at Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) and, for five years, served as AGRA’s General Counsel and Corporation Secretary. Her role was to provide strategic oversight on legal advisory, compliance, risk management, and governance for AGRA’s programmatic activities across sub-Saharan Africa.
Victoria Sabula holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Nazarene University, a Bachelor of Law (LLB) Degree, a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from KSL (Kenya School of Law), and a Human Resource Management diploma from Kenya Institute of Management.
In 2015, Victoria Sabula was named in the Legal 500’s General Counsel Power List Africa, recognizing the top 100 corporate counsels in Africa.
The Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF) is a non-profit institution with headquarters in Kenya, that supports early and growth-stage businesses in the agribusiness and renewable energy sectors to reduce poverty, promote resilient communities, and create jobs through private sector investments.
Since 2008, the AECF has invested in 268 businesses across sub-Sahara Africa, focusing on Agribusiness, Renewable Energy, and Climate Technologies. As of 2019, it has impacted more than 17 million lives and created over 12,000 jobs and leveraged over $750 million in matching funds from the private sector.
