    Unga Group Board Appoints Joseph Choge as New Managing Director

    The Board of Unga Group Plc has confirmed the appointment of 39-year-old Joseph Malel Choge as the new Managing Director of the Company, effective December 1st 2021.

    Choge is a senior executive with vast experience within manufacturing( food and beverages, home and personal care products), telecoms, banking, insurance and finance.

    Unga Group headhunts Choge from Premier Foods

    He will be joining the listed miller from his most recent assignment with Premier Foods Limited(Peptang), where he held the CEO position.

    Before this role, Choge worked with Industrial Promotion Services(IPS), Airtel Gabon, Unilever, among others, during which he held various senior positions.

    Choge has a degree in Mathematics from the University of Nairobi (UoN), a Masters degree in International Management and is a Certified Public Accountant.

    Choge replaces Nicholas Charles Hutchinson, who retired from Unga Group effective December 31st 2021, following the end of his term.

    The Unga Group Board said in a notice that Hutchinson would continue in an advisory capacity for a while to ensure a smooth transition.

    Presently, Hutchinson is also Chairman for Kisima Farm Limited and Cereal Millers Association and sits on the National Cereals & Produce Board and Sunpower Products Limited board.

    Hutchinson has an undergraduate degree from the University of London.
