Nigeria’s ed-tech startup, Ulesson, an online learning platform, has raised $7.5 million in its Series A funding round. The startup combines streaming and SD cards to minimize data streaming cost to bridge the education gap in Nigeria and Africa at large.
Investors who took part in the funding round include Owl Ventures, TLcom Capital, Founder Collective, and LocalGlobe. Furthermore, Tory Patterson, managing director of Owl Ventures, joins the uLesson board.
According to the company, they will use the funding to expand across Eastern and Southern Africa, as well as to secure new talent and build its product development and production infrastructure.
The funding follows an initial $3.1 million seed round raised in November 2019.
