The United Kingdom has approved KSh8 billion for the Kenya Government’s Affordable Housing Program, as part of the Government’s support of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s vision of providing 100,000 units to Kenyans.
According to the United Kingdom Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab, the funding will come in tranches, where KSh1 billion will be from the UK funded InfraCo and another KSh7 billion from private investors, both coming in as part of the Government’s investment on infrastructure in Africa.
In March 2019, the World Bank also approved a $250 million International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) loan to support the Government’s affordable housing agenda.
