Uber has exited the Colombian market, after a court ruling that deemed its operation as unfair competition in the country.
On 20th December 2019, the court ruled that the taxi-hailing app violated the competition rules in the country. Nevertheless, the firm appealed the ruling to the President, seeking to continue with the operations. However, as the 1st February 2020 dealine loomed, the firm was yet to win the appeal, forcing it to hang its boots after six years of service.
Uber Eats, though, will continue operating in the market.
This comes a few months after the firm also lost is its London operational license, amid safety concerns.
