Nairobi residents are set to enjoy easy shopping after Twiga Foods partnered with e-commerce firm Jumia to supply fresh produce within Nairobi and its environs.
The two companies have joined forces to enable shoppers buy fresh fruits and vegetables in pre-packed bundles from the comfort of their homes. Jumia will provide free, same-day deliveries within Nairobi.
The partnership is expected to help Jumia and Twiga Foods to grow their online commerce and food distribution businesses. The shopping experience in Nairobi and Kenya, in general, is set to shift radically as more people take up online shopping.
Twiga Foods, a fresh produce distributor, recently received $5 Million (KSh 535 Million) funding from the United States International Development Finance Corporation to help improve food security in Kenya.
Food for thought: What is the maximum number of hours that food can be held in the food danger zone?
