Tuskys Supermarkets, one of Kenya’s largest and most successful retail chains has shut down one of its busiest branches in Nairobi, commonly Known as “Tuskys Beba Beba”.
Tuskys said it closed down the 11 year old branch after the owners of the property, Bank of Baroda sold the property and the new owner wants to carry out a refurbishment exercise on the property.
“The Bank of Baroda has been our landlord for 11 years. The Bank has now informed us that they have sold the property. The new owner has notified us of their intent to re-develop the property.Consequently, we have to close business in that location effective 02 May 2017.” Tuskys said in a statement.
However, the good news is that Tuskys noted that they have put measures in place to accommodate its customers to nearby branches and all the 104 employees of the closed branch will be absorbed in other branches.
