    Turnover at the NSE ups slightly to KSh 272 Million

    Turnover at the NSE ups slightly to KSh 272 Million

    Turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) climbed to KSh 272.03 Million at the close of trading on 28th October 2020. This is compared to a turnover of KSh 236.1 Million recorded this Tuesday.

    The volume of share traded stood at 11.47 Million in 642 deals compared to a volume of 10.42 million in 755 deals recorded yesterday.

    The top gainer was TransCentury Limited (TCL) whose shares price was up 6.67% to KSh 1.60. It was followed by Standard Group whose stock price increased by 5.42% to settle at KSh 25.30. Housing Finance Company of Kenya (HFCK) had a price gain of 4.86% to KSh 3.88. Total shares were up 2.78% to KSh 24.00 while CIC Group was the day’s 5th top price gainer, its counter recording a 2.76% rise to close at KSh 2.23.

    The day’s biggest mover was Safaricom with 5.81 Million shares changing hands followed by Bank of Kigali (2.92 Million), Equity Group Plc (1.13 Million), Britam (511,200) and KPLC (303,200).

    The worst performing counters were led by Express Kenya which fell 8.89% to trade at KSh 4.10 followed by Eveready which declined 6.19% to KSh 0.91. Others laggards were Sameer Africa Plc which lost 6% to trade at KSh 3.29, Car& General which shed 5% to KSh 23.75 and Bank of Kigali which fell 3.85% to trade at KSh 12.50.

    The NSE 20 Share Index was down 0.01% to 1797.81 from the previous 1797.95 while the NSE 25 Share Index fell 0.05% from the previous 3185.23 to 3183.75. The NSE All-Share shed 0.08% to close at 139.88 points from the previous 139.99.

    Market capitalization stood at KSh 2.15 trillion.
