Turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) increased significantly to KSh 652.49 Million from a turnover of KSh 182. 7 Million on Tuesday. A volume of 25.5 Million shares exchanged hands in 957 deals.
Safaricom was the most traded counter with 16.26 Million shares followed by BK Group(3.10 Million), KenGen(1.58 Million), Equity(1.12 Million) and Kenya Re(657,100).
Jubilee was the day’s top price gainer with its shares appreciating 10% to KSh 242.00 followed by TPS Serena which was up 9.71% to KSh 16.95 while Stanbic holdings climbed 7.59% to KSh 81.50.
Other top gainers were NSE which rose 3.6% to KSh 8.64 and Flame Tree Group whose share price rose 3.15% to KSh 1.31.
BK Group was the worst-performing counter, its price falling by 6.9% to KSh 12.15, Olympia Capital Holdings, WPP Scan Group which lost 4.86% to KSh 6.66, Uchumi which declined 3.23% to KSh 0.30 and ABSA NewGold ETF which fell 2.73% to trade at KSh 1,960.00.
The NSE 20 Share index lost 5.22 points to 1844.99 from the previous 1850.21 while the NSE 25 Share Index declined 1.93 points to 3252.25 from the previous 3254.18. The NSE All-Share Index, which measures the market’s capitalization, also declined to 140.00 from the previous 140.09.
