Turnover at the Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) increased to KSh 501.49 Million at the end of trading on 7th September 2020. This was on a volume of 18.19 Million shares.
Equity turnover on Friday stood at KSh192.83 Million on a volume of 16.04 Million shares and 1,336 deals.
Safaricom was the biggest mover at the bourse, transacting a volume of 12.96 Million followed by KCB(1.82 Million), KPLC( 963,600), Kenya Re( 591,700) and Equity(348,400).
The top gainer was Stanlib Fahari Income whose share price rose 9.06% to KSh 5.54, followed by Uchumi which was up 7.14% to KSh 0.30, Nation Media Group which appreciated 7.08% to KSh 18.15, Flame Tree Group up 5.26% to KSh 1.40 and BOC whose share price appreciated 4.46% to KSh 58.50.
The biggest loser was Stanbic Holdings followed by Britam, CIC, Express Kenya and Jubliee whose prices fell by 8.19%, 7.39%, 3.33%, 3.19%, 3.19% and 2.27% respectively.
The benchmark NSE All-Share Index [NASI] declined 1.69 points to close at 137.58. The NSE 20 Share Index declined 5.40 points to close at 1849.64. The NSE 25 Share Index declined 38.00 points to close at 3186.43
The derivatives market had 1 contract valued at KSh 29,000 in Monday 7th September’s trading session.
The secondary bond market recorded a decline in activity during Monday’s session with bonds worth KSh 4.18 billion transacted in 97 deals. This is compared to KSh 6.37 billion achieved in 109 deals posted in Friday’s trading session.
