Avery East Africa Limited a Transcentury subsidiary has partnered with UK’s Velocity Group to launch a new pothole patching technology to take advantage of booming road maintenance business in Kenya. The technology sees a pothole patched in less than 5 minutes, which allows for quicker and efficient patching.
‘With all the potholes in Kenya this is a long overdue technology! We at Transcentury congratulates AEA on the launch of this amazing technology.’ Said TransCentury.
The Ksh 50 Million machine is mounted on a truck with a powerful hose that can spray a mixture of cold bitumen and fine ballast into a pothole, sealing damaged roads in a few minutes.road repairs and emergency maintenance.
The Government of Kenya currently spends billions of money on road repair & maintenance and this new technology could help in saving costs and time especially during the rainy seasons.
“The technology has had massive success in the road infrastructure industry, especially in the developed economies. In addition AEA has partnered with National Youth Service to tap into the pool of skilled labour for the equipment operations,” said Avery EA CEO Nicholus Kithinji.
This comes at a time when the struggling TransCentury is facing a Ksh 8 billion debt repayment which is due on March 25.
