Three Kenyan startups are among ten African firms chosen to participate in #Africa4Future accelerator program, which seeks to provide innovation guidance to aerospace startups.
The structured accelerator program is sponsored by global aerospace accelerator Airbus’ BizLab, GIZ’s Make-IT in Africa and the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST).
The three Kenyan startups, drone company Astral Aerial, environmental monitoring solution Lentera, and water monitoring solution MobiTech Water Solutions will learn innovative aerospace based solutions to tackle the continent’s most pressing challenges such as transportation, agriculture and healthcare.
Others firms selected to participate in the program are smart manufacturing company Elemental Numerics, and wireless charging solution WiPo Wireless Power from South Africa.
Cote d’Ivoire Drone from Ivory Coast, Ethiopia-based Maisha ICT Tech, health supplies delivery platform MamaBird (Malawi), urban mapping solution Map Action (Mali), and construction project management tool Track Your Build from Nigeria were also selected.
The program will include an intensive six-month business incubation and accelerator programme involving technical, commercial and mentorship activities in France, Germany and South Africa.
It will end with a demo day event at the biennial Paris International Airshow and an event, where finalists will launch their products.
