The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is set to invest over 100 projects worth a total of US$6bn in Africa's travel and hospitality sector, its officials said at the recent UAE Africa Tourism Investment Summit 2025 in Dubai.
- •The Gulf country intends to invest in on over 100 tourism projects in aviation, logistics, infrastructure, and the digital sector.
- •According to Bin Touq, the UAE's total investments in Africa now exceeded US$110 billion by 2023, making the Gulf nation the fourth largest investor in the continent after the US, China, and the European Union.
- •Over US$ 70 billion of the investment was directed toward green, energy, and renewable energy sectors.
“Today, the UAE and Africa stand at a pivotal moment in developing a resilient and sustainable tourism sector,” said Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism,. “This milestone is marked by the launch of a new investment mapping featuring diverse tourism projects in aviation, logistics, infrastructure, and the digital sector, with an estimated total value of approximately $6 billion and the potential to generate 70 000 job opportunities across Africa.”
The investments are expected to create 70,000 new jobs.
