    Tea Prices Slightly Rise at Weekly Auction

    The weekly Mombasa Tea Auction held on the 31st March and 1st April 2020 recorded 12.5 million kilograms of tea offered for sale, compared to 10.8 million kilograms for the same period last year.

    There was a stagnation in the offered kilograms as compared to the previous auction held on 25th and 26th March, which saw 12.5 million kilograms offered, and 9.7 million sold.

    Out of all the tea offered for sale, 11.7 million kilograms were sold.

    The auction recorded an increase in prices, with a kilogram selling for an average of $1.94, compared to $1.86 in the previous sale.
