The weekly Mombasa Tea Auction held on the 7th, 8th, and 9th December 2020 had 10.9 million kilograms of tea offered for sale. The amount on offer decreased from 11 million kilograms offered in the same period last year, and increased from 10.5 million kilograms offered in the previous sale.
Of all the tea offered for sale, 9.8 million kilograms were sold same as in the same period in 2019, and 9.5 million kilograms sold during the previous sale.
The tea auction recorded a slight increase in prices, with a kilogram selling at an average price of $1.82, compared to $1.85 during the previous sale held on 30th November, 1st and 2nd December 2020.
