The weekly Mombasa Tea Auction held on the 15th and 16th June 2020 recorded 13.4 million kilograms offered for sale. The amount of tea on offer increased from 9 million kilograms offered for sale during the same period last year.
Of all the tea offered for sale, 10.7 million kilograms were sold compared to 6.6 million kilograms sold in the same period in 2019.
The sale recorded a marginal increase in prices, with a kilogram selling at an average price of $ 1.78, compared to $1.77 during the previous auction, held on the 8th and 9th of June 2020.
