    Tavaziva Madzinga Joins the Board of Britam

    Britam Holdings has announced the appointment of 43-year-old Tavaziva Madzinga to its board of directors. Tavaziva Madzinga is the new Group Managing Director at Britam, having replaced the long-serving MD Benson Wairegi on February 1, 2021. His appointment to the board took effect on February 16, 2021.

    Tavaziva is a highly skilled and experienced leader with over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Britam Holdings, he was the Chief Executive Officer at Swiss Re (UK & Ireland), a subsidiary of the world’s largest reinsurance company.

    Tavaziva holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science Degree from the University of Cape Town and professional qualifications from INSEAD and Harvard Business School. In addition, he a member of the Institute of Actuaries in the United Kingdom and a fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa.

    His entry into the board of Britam Holdings brings the total number of board members to 11. The board is led by the acting Chairman Mohamed Said Karama.

    “The Board is confident that the Company will immensely benefit from Mr. Madzinga’s skills, knowledge and experience,” said the company on his appointment.
