Safaricom has informed its customers of impending maintenance on its M-Pesa mobile money transfer platform this weekend.

“During this exercise, all Safaricom Cloud, Lipa Na M-PESA, M-Shwari, KCB M-PESA, the Safaricom App, M-PESA Daraja API, Mobile Banking, International Money Transfers, VAS Services and Safaricom Online Customer Support on Twitter and Facebook shall be unavailable,” said the firm in a statement.
All other M-PESA services including sending, depositing, withdrawal as well as data, calls and SMS will be uninterrupted.
This oftentimes upgrade on the M-PESA platform takes place between Friday, 4th September 2020 from 11.00 pm to 5th September 2020 to 6 am Saturday.
