It’s official. Sam Shollei has exited Standard Media Group as CEO.
The NSE listed media company made the announcement late Friday, confirming reports by The Kenyan Wallstreet and others. Its reported that Mr Shollei was fired after a “fallout with some key people in the company’s board”
“The Board of Directors of The Standard Group Plc wishes to notify its shareholders and the general public that it has appointed Mr. Orlando Lyomu as the Acting Group Chief Executive Offcer in place of Mr. Sam Shollei, who resigned with effect from 1st September, 2017. Until this appointment Mr. Orlando Lyomu has been the Finance Director & Chief Operating Offcer of the Standard Group since 2012. The Board wishes to thank Mr. Shollei for his leadership and immense contribution to the Group during his tenure.” The company said in a statement sent through the Exchange.
