Standard Chartered Bank Kenya Limited has announced the appointment of Kariuki Ngari as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director effective first quarter of 2019.
Mr Ngari will replace Lamin Manjang who will be moving on to take up a new role as CEO for StanChart Nigeria and West Africa Region.
Mr Manjang has been at the helm of the Kenyan faction for five years.
A career banker with over 23 years of experience, Mr Ngari joined StanChart in 1994 until 2001 when he joined Barclays Bank of Kenya as Retail Banking Director.
In 2009, he rejoined StanChart as Head of Consumer Banking Kenya and East Africa, and in 2013 became Regional Head Retail Banking Africa.
He moved to Singapore in 2015 as Global Head, Retail Distribution for StanChart Group, and more recently, Mr Ngari has been serving as Group Head, Service Quality in Group Retail Banking still in Singapore.
