Stanbic Bank has partnered with Strathmore Business School to launch a training and mentoring programme for small and medium enterprise owners.
The capacity building initiative dubbed ‘BizConnect’ is aimed at providing strategic solutions to SMEs to enhance their operational efficiency and imparting skills on basic methods of business and financial management.
Speaking during the launch of the programmes at Strathmore Business School Stanbic Bank Chief Executive Phillip Odera said the training programme has been running since 2016 exposes business owners to critical skills and tools for effective leadership in business and gives them the unique opportunity to reflect on their current leadership abilities as well as enhance their leadership and management skills.
Strathmore Business School Vice Dean, Executive Talent Development Dr. Angela Ndunge said both Strathmore Business School and Stanbic Bank shared similar vision of developing a viable business community by providing necessary skills to enable businesses manage and sustain their operations for the long haul.
“The pilot programme which began in 2014 have so far trained 208 Stanbic Bank customers. We are happy by the structure of the programme and hence the decision to officially launch it. We expect to train more than 500 customers within the two years of this partnership,” Dr. Ndunge said.
