Stanbic Bank Zambia Chief Executive Charles Mudiwa has been appointed as the new CEO of Kenyan operations with effect from 6th December 2017.
Mudiwa takes over from Philip Odera (58) who is expected to go for retirement after serving at the helm of the bank since March 2015.
About Charles Mudiwa
Charles Mwanyara Mudiwa became Chief Executive of Stanbic Bank Zambia in 2013. Prior to his appointment, Mudiwa was Chief Executive of Standard Bank Malawi from 2007.
He holds an Economics Degree from the University of Zimbabwe. Mudiwa’s previous positions in the Standard Bank Group over the past decade include Executive Director for Retail Banking and Operations at Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe. In South Africa he was Director in charge of Standard Bank’s mass market banking.
About Philip Odera
Prior to 2007, Philip Odera worked with Stanbic Bank Nigeria. From 2007 until 2014, he served as the Managing Director and CEO of Stanbic Bank Uganda. In February 2015, he was appointed by the Board of Directors at Stanbic Holdings Kenya to become the new CEO.
