Skyward Express has officially begun flying the Nairobi – Kakamega route for a cost of KES 5,590.
The flight will depart from Wilson Airport to Kakamega at 10 a.m., and return back to Nairobi at 11:05 a.m.
Opening of the new corridor offers the airline a huge market base in Counties such as Kakamega, Vihiga, Busia, among others.
Less than a week ago, President William Ruto commissioned the newly rehabilitated Kakamega Airstrip, offering huge opportunities for local carriers.
Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen said the new flight route indicated the country’s economic growth despite previous challenges.
Skyward Express is a private airline operating in Kenya. It serves local destinations, from its two operations bases at Wilson Airport for passengers and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for cargo.
