    SEACOM Appoints Tony Tugee as its Managing Director for Eastern,Northern and East Africa

    Tony Tugee has been appointed SEACOM’s Managing Director for the Eastern North and East Africa region.

    Prior to his appointment, he was SEACOM’s head of business in Kenya and East Africa. He has also worked as the the head of enterprise sales and retention at Safaricom before joining SEACOM in September 2017.

    SEACOM is a submarine communications cable operator with a network of submarine, and terrestrial, high-speed fibre-optic cable that serves the east and west coasts of Africa

    Byron Clatterbuck, SEACOM’s Group CEO expressed confidence in Tugee’s appointment saying he is fit to work with the firm in strategising and tapping globally-benchmarked and locally-relevant expertise to drive expansion in the region and across Africa.

    “As a company, we are always looking for the best talent, and we strive to retain the best by allowing that talent to drive our growth in local markets, streamline the company’s activities and bring our vision for the region to fruition,” he said.

    He added that Tonny’s unique knowledge within the company and region will also be a boost for his new role.

    “We are confident that with the support of our dynamic regional team, SEACOM will provide a world-class level of customer service to enable our customers realize the intrinsic value of our network” said Mr Clatterbuck.
