Sarova Ceases Management of Two of its Hotels

Sarova Hotels and Resorts Kenya has announced plans to stop the management of two of its hotels, Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge and Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge.

With effect from 1st July 2020, both hotels located within the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary will no longer operate under Sarova’s portfolio.

In November 2019, the Group ceased management of the Spirit of the Masai Mara located within the Siana Conservancy in the Maasai Mara.

Elsewhere, in March this year, Serena Hotels closed some of its establishments in anticipation of reduced business levels until 15th June 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Southern Sun’s Mayfair Hotel already shut down operations on 31st January 2020, firing all employees, citing tough economic times. The hotel, owned by South Africa’s Tsogo Group, had been operational in Kenya for more than 10 years.
