Kenya’s largest telco by customer numbers Safaricom has unveiled a new logo for the next seven days in honour of Eliud Kipchoge.
The new Mpesa logo christened as Eliud 159 pays homage to the greatest marathoner in history.
Safaricom is showing its support to Kipchoge in his challenge to become the first-ever athlete to run a full marathon in under 2 hours breaking the two-hour marathon barrier.
Kipchoge hopes to clinch the record during INEOS 1:59 Challenge having missed it by a mere 26 seconds when he clocked 2:00:25 during the Nike Break2 project.
Mpesa launched in 2007 and has grown to 22.6 million active customers served through a network of 167,000 M-pesa agents countrywide.
