Safaricom Ranked Best Company to Work For By LinkedIn

Safaricom was ranked as the best company to work for in Kenya in the LinkedIn 2022 Top Companies Ranking.

Linkedin unveiled its 2022 top companies list that ranks the 25 best workplaces for professionals to grow their careers based on Linkedin company data and ratings such as the ability to advance, skills growth, company stability, external opportunity, company affinity, gender diversity, and educational background.

“This award demonstrates our dedication as Safaricom to have a better world of work and this is exhibited through our excellent Human Resource policies and people practices. Our ambition as a company is to become the number one employer in Kenya. We do this by providing our employees the opportunities and platforms to upskill themselves, while also creating a workplace that is inclusive and conducive for all.” Safaricom chief executive Peter Ndegwa said in a post on LinkedIn.

Equity Bank came in second while national carrier Kenya Airways ranked third followed by KCB Group which emerged fourth in the ranking and NCBA Group fifth.

In January, Safaricom was certified as a Top Employer in Kenya and Africa by the Top Employers Institute, a global authority on recognising excellence in People Practices.

Additionally, the telecom also won a prestigious Global Mobile Award (GLOMO) for the M-PESA Super App under the category of “Best Mobile Innovation for Connected Living” edging out other nominations from across the globe.

The M-PESA Super App was recognised for its innovative transformation of customers’ experience when using M-PESA and for the Mini-Apps feature which empowers any business to provide services through a digital shop on the app
