M-Tiba is a mobile phone service that allows users to send, save, and spend funds specifically for medical treatment. In this case, the money stored in M-Tiba can only be used to pay for treatment and medication at the partner clinics and hospitals.
One milestone is the partnership with CarePay, a health payment solution with an e-wallet thus enabling users to save as little as KSh10. This may explain the surge in subscribers to the plan.
In the 2019 sustainability report, Safaricom says that M-Tiba now has 4.4 million users , 1405 approved health facilities nationwide.
Additionally, the M-Tiba platform has made over KSh600 million in payments to health facilities.

Fafanuka is an innovative product offering SMS and unstructured service supplementary data (USSD) service to educate public, patients, nurses, community health workers, and caregivers on how to prevent, screen for, diagnose, manage, and follow up non-communicable diseases (NCDs) has reached 5400 subscribers.
Safaricom has also held maternal and child health programs and medical camps countrywide impacting over 100,000 lives.
