Safaricom Launches Mpesa for Business App

Safaricom has launched the Mpesa for Business app, allowing businesses to withdraw money from their mobile phones and bank accounts at agents locations. The app only comes a few weeks after the Telecom giant launched the Mpesa for Business services USSD. Both services allow over 170,000 agents to conduct direct transactions from their tills.

The Android version is already available on Playstore while the iOS version will come after a few days.

The Mpesa for Business App allows a business to send money to customers, suppliers and pay salaries directly. It enables Lipa na Mpesa merchants to monitor and transact multiple till numbers registered under the same business nominated number.

At Safaricom, we are taking a focus on the needs of small and medium businesses, to provide them with suitable technologies to help them grow. The M-Pesa for Business smartphone App is such a solution. It empowers more than 170,000 businesses across the country to send money and make payments and provides them with simple and detailed reports from the convenience of their mobile phone.

    Safaricom CEO, Peter Ndegwa

The app helps businesses consolidate their daily incomes through the Roll Up feature, which allows branches to push funds directly to head office. Moreover, an owner with multiple outlets can easily monitor cash flows at the convenience of their cell phone.

The app will be readily available for businesses once Safaricom processes their application through m-pesaforbusiness.co.ke.
