Sendy, a kenyan package delivery start-up has raised Sh 300 Million ($3M) funding to expand its operations, according to Disrupt Africa.
One of the founders of the logistics startup revealed this at the African Angel Investor Summit in Cape Town few weeks ago.
Co-founder and chief operating officer (COO) Malaika Judd said they have completed a US$3 million funding round with participation from numerous investors, though the startup they are still seeking further funding.
Sendy Ltd is also one of the beneficiaries of Safaricom’s Sh102 million Spark Venture Fund.
During the recent launch of Masoko, Safaricom revealed that they have partnered with Fargo and Sendy to deal with delivery and warehousing of items from merchants who sign up on the site. This will also enable the expansion of the start up beyond Nairobi & Mombasa.
