Safaricom has appointed Mr Michael Mutiga as its new Chief Business Development and Strategy Officer, with effect from 1st May 2022.
Mr Mutiga will be responsible for strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, Safaricom’s funding strategy, and asset optimization.
Prior to his appointment, he was Citibank’s Managing Director and Head of Corporate Finance for Sub-Saharan Africa.
He has also previously worked in Barclays/Absa Capital as the Regional Coverage Head – East Africa, Investment Banking Division Africa.
Michael Mutiga holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of Nairobi, and Masters in Law degree from Temple University. He is an Advocate and a Certified Public Secretary.
