French oil firm Rubis Energie has appointed former Total Kenya senior executive Jean-Christian Bergeron to be in charge of its East African operations.
Mr Bergeron has worked for Total Oil for approximately 30 years until his departure in March this year, he will replace KenolKobil chief executive David Ohana who resigned last month and is expected to leave the firm in June.
Rubis Energie completed the acquisition of KenolKobil in March. Investors in Kenol Kobil offered 1,145,757,700 shares up for sale; equivalent to 96.85 per cent of shares not already owned by the French company. Only 3.1 per cent of shareholders declined the offer.
The French firm has now embarked on taking control of the oil marketing firm including delisting it from the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).
