Little, the Pan-African ride-hailing service that debuted in Kenya in 2016 is finally making its way to Ghana! The company is expected to begin operations in Ghana on December 15, 2022, with an official launch.
The ride-hailing company is marketed as a highly professional and user-friendly service that offers safe, on-demand rides in various car categories to accommodate each rider’s preferences.
Since its inception, the company has rapidly expanded from a Kenyan to a global one, with operations in Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, India, Senegal, Uganda, Somalia, and now Ghana.
Kamal Budhabhatti, CEO of Little, has a dedicated team in each country of operation that is determined and excited to leave a mark on the entire African continent. Little’s Chief Operating Officer, Niladri Roy, echoed this excitement in a statement, saying that the team is poised to make Little the best in Ghana. He went on to say that bringing Little to Ghana was an easy decision. According to him, Ghana, particularly Accra, has become increasingly cosmopolitan, with a high demand for corporate ride-hailing services such as Little.
Unlike other ride-hailing services currently in operation in the country, Little’s business focus is on the corporate segment, so Little drivers are highly professional, and the vehicles permitted have higher requirements. This means that even retail customers who use the service will receive a higher service level than elsewhere.
The taxi-hailing company is a comprehensive transportation management system for corporations that makes it simple to manage logistics costs at all levels of the organization. It provides a 100% audit trail of transportation costs that are automated and credible. Employees can travel around town in comfort and style while on business. These and other benefits are available to corporate clients on a post-paid basis.
One of the most advantageous aspects of companies associated with the Little brand is that the company’s business model respects and rewards its drivers, customers, and other stakeholders. According to Felistas Kisivo, a Little Executive, the company’s passion for diversity and inclusion can be seen in its low commissions on rides and the empowering communal platforms it has created for Little drivers. Topping it all off is the one-of-a-kind service category: Superwoman. The Superwoman service option was created with women’s safety in mind. It is also an empowerment tool for more female entrepreneurs to enter the ride-hailing business.
“I encourage female riders to book a Superwoman ride with Little and help another woman,” she said.
Corporate and individual riders can select from the following car categories: Basic, Comfort, Comfort+, and Super Woman. Furthermore, Little is built with rider and driver safety in mind, and includes security features like GPS map tracking, SOS Emergency Services, Trip Sharing, Service Rating, and 24-hour customer support.
According to a preliminary market survey, riders are excited to have such a service in Ghana because there is currently no ride hailing service in Ghana that offers professional ride hailing services to individuals as well as a dedicated transport management system to businesses.
Participants in the company’s pilot tests have observed that riding in a Little is relaxing: there are no price increases or cancellation fees. In fact, Ms Kisivo has hinted that we should be on the lookout for surprises such as additional discounts, special birthday packages and corporate surprises, a chance to meet their celebrity brand ambassador, and many more!
The app is available on Google Play as well as the App Store. Drivers can also download the Little Agent app to take advantage of the market’s lowest commission rates, free data, and other perks.
