Renault has launched a new Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) specifically for the Kenyan market.
Dubbed Kiger, the new five sitter SUV strengthens Renault’s offering in Kenya that already includes Kwid, Duster, Koleos, Kangoo and Triber.
The SUV is fitted with a three-cylinder turbocharged one-liter petrol engine, with a power output of 100 Ps and a torque of 160 Nm. It thus boasts the best fuel economy of its category with five-liter/100KM (20 KM/litre) consumption, and a high ground clearance of 205 mm.
However, Renault is yet to reveal the cost of the new SUV
This comes at a time when Kenyan automaker, Mobius, is planning to expand into Uganda and Tanzania, even as it ramps up production of its second-generation model which costs KSh1.5 million.
