RaySecur, Mailroom Security Startup, Raises $3 Million in Seed Funding

Mailroom security startup, RaySecur, has raised a total of $3 million in their first round of seed funding.

The investors who participated in the funding include One Way Ventures, Junson Capital, Launchpad Venture Group, and Dreamit Ventures.

According to the firm, they will use the funding to expand their customer base, which currently boasts of about ten Fortune 500 customers.

The Fortune 500 is an annual list that Fortune magazine compiles and publishes. It ranks 500 of the largest United States corporations by total revenue for their respective fiscal years. The list includes publicly held companies, along with privately held companies for which revenues are publicly available.

RaySecur uses millimeter-wave technology to examine suspicious letters, flat envelopes, and small parcels. As reported by Techcrunch, its technology can detect powders as small as 2% of a teaspoon or a single drop of liquid. Additionally, it uses 3D real-time scanning technology, dubbed MailSecur, to intercept and detect threats in the mailroom.
