PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) announced on Monday the retirement of Anne Eriksson, the first African female regional head at the firm. Eriksson was in charge of operations in 6 African countries over the last 6 years.
The notice said:
“PwC announces the retirement of Anne Eriksson, effective 30 June 2018. Anne will retire from the firm after 40 years of service to clients, 30 of them as a partner.”
Additionally, Peter Ngahu has been appointed as the incoming regional and country senior partner. Ngahu has been the regional and Kenyan leader of PwC assurance and a member of the regional leadership team at PwC.
“I am confident that Anne is leaving a firm and a network that is stronger for her leadership, and that Peter will contribute to and guide our success in Africa through his own unique contributions,” Hein Boegman, Territory Senior Partner, PwC Africa stated.
Anne Eriksson is an alumnus of the University of Warwick, UK and Alliance Girls High School. During her time at PwC, the firm was in 2015 investigated by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) over Sh879.1 million accounting fraud at Haco Tiger Brands.
