Pride Inn Paradise Hotel, located in Shanzu, Mombasa, has been awarded the 5-star rating by the Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA).
The facility becomes the fifth hotel at the coast region, and the first within Mombasa to achieve five-star rating after Leopards Beach Hotel, Swahili Beach Hotel, Diani Reef Hotel (all located in South Coast), and the Medina Palms in Watamu.
Pride Inn Paradise Hotel scored 80.2 per cent on the Authority’s assessment index while attaining 100% on essential items as required by the EAC grading procedure.
The hotel is the only hotel in the region with the ability to host as many as 2,500 delegates in their conference room.
Hotel ratings by TRA from two to five-stars help tourists determine their choice of hotel or lodge and what luxuries they offer.
The assessment was carried out by TRA on hotels in South Rift, Nairobi and Coast regions was done between June 9 and July 14 by East Africa Community Certified Assessors and supervised by Standardization and Classification Committee of TRA.
