Prices at Tea Auction Decline Slightly to $2.43 Per Kg

The weekly Mombasa Tea Auction held on 7th, 8th, and 9th November 2022 had 13.8 million kilograms of tea offered for sale. The amount on offer increased when compared to the 13.2 million kilograms offered during the previous sale, and the 12.1 million kilograms offered during a similar period last year.

Of all the tea offered for sale, 9.8 million kilograms were sold, compared to 9.9 million kilograms during the previous sale, and 10.5 million kilograms during the same period last year.

The tea auction recorded a slight decrease in prices, with a kilogram selling at an average price of $2.43, down from $2.45 recorded during the previous sale held on 31st October, 1st and 2nd November  2022, but increased when compared to the $2.19 fetched during the same period last year.
