Super Petrol Prices fell by Ksh 1.42 in the November Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) review. Diesel and kerosene prices follow suit, falling by Ksh 2.21 and Ksh 2.10 per litre respectively. Between November 15 and December 14, motorists in Nairobi will pay KSh 105.85 for a litre of Petrol, KSh 90.70 for a litre of Diesel and KSh 81.63 for a litre of Kerosene. The decrease in this months’ pump prices is a consequence of the lower cost of imported fuel.
“Taking into account the weighted average cost of imported refined petroleum products, the changes in the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices in Nairobi are as follows: Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene decreased by KShs 1.42 per litre, KShs 2.21 per litre and KShs 2.10 per litre respectively,” says EPRA director General Robert Pavel Omieke in a press release.
Last month, the average landed costs for a cubic metre of Super petrol fell by 4.45% to $316.64. The import cost of a cubic metre of diesel and Kerosene fell by 7.42% month on month to $288.81 and $261.17 respectively.
In the October pump prices review, petrol prices rose by KSh 0.72 to Ksh 107.27 per litre in line with a 1.12% increase in the landing costs of a cubic metre Super petrol. Diesel retailed at Ksh 92.91 per litre a Ksh 2.18 decrease in line with the 5.42% increase in average landing costs of a cubic metre of diesel. Kerosene prices remained unchanged at KSh 83.73 a litre in line with its stagnant importation costs.
